Roadrunner Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Were those speakers on the interior sides included with the kit? They look cool.
Nekomata Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Were those speakers on the interior sides included with the kit? They look cool.Yep, they were molded on the sides. I just painted them black, according to a reference picture of the real car.
espo Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Nice looking chassis and interior. What body color are you going to use ? Just an FYI the grills in the front kick panels are outside air vents. Many did place speakers in that location and many interior suppliers today offer replacement panels with built in speakers, but in '62 this is where the outside air came into the interior with or without air conditioning. Look forward to the rest of your build.
PlasticWagens Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 For only being your 3rd build you are on your way for sure! Great work on the interior!

For the body I want to use Duplicolor Almond Beige Pearl, but I'm kind of postponing that since painting the body is where I tend to struggle...
Nekomata Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 For only being your 3rd build you are on your way for sure! Great work on the interior! I learn from the best community And thank you!
Canso65 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Your doing a really nice job German.Just take your time to paint the body. Wash it well, prime it and then put your paint on. Sounds like a real cool color.
espo Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Should be a pretty color combo. I also have struggled with paint issues for many years. Like so many others here I use a lot of plastic spoons before I ever go near the body . This gives you a chance of trying different primers as well as seeing just how the color will look over curved surfaces. I have no idea who first came up with the idea but I'm forever in there debt for the bodies it has saved me personally.
