Quick GMC Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I am taking a short break from the Hemi Dart while I wait for parts for my airbrush. I have been wanting to start this kit for a while and it will like be worked on in between other builds. I have a hard time knowing where to stop when it comes to detailing, and it usually ends up with everything in a box when I get stuck. I will try and keep this one fairly simple. Right now, the detailing plan will be the Acu Stion set, scratchbuilding a few pipes, clamps and adding wiring to the cluster and other areas. PE pieces, turned intake trumpets and the windscreen. I dont know much about these kits, but I am guessing it's an old one. The detail isn't too sharp. The tires are perfect. They have the right finish and they are already lettered. All I have to do is some light weathering. So far I have just glued some engine pieces, filled some gaps. I will post some pics when the engine has some primer and starts coming together.
Quick GMC Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 I posted this in the wrong forum, can a mod please move this to the Workbench
Taxdude Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I have this kit as well but have been holding off starting it. I'm really interested to see how the PE set works out.
Deathgoblin Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Looks like a really nice kit overall. I'm curious to see how it goes together.
Crusader101 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Nice looking kit, look forward to your progress.Did you purchase the detail set directly from Acu Stion?
Quick GMC Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 I think I bought it from Media Mix hobby in Singapore, or Hobby Link Japan
afx Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Looking forward to this build Cameron. Have any good reference material to share? I have the 1/24 scale RA272E Hasegawa kit I want to tackle some day. Edited September 21, 2015 by afx
Quick GMC Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Not a ton yet, but I started using Pitnerest to compile reference pics for builds. I started a board here, but have only added pics directly from Pinterest so far. I will add more as I go. https://www.pinterest.com/camerondemille/
afx Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Tried to send you a PM with a reference article attached but it said you cannot receive PMs(?) Edited September 21, 2015 by afx
