Hi Everyone, well I started my next project a Monogram '69 Dodge Coronet 440 Six Pack. Im working on the interior as it needs a lot of modifications as fellow board member forwardlook60 pointed out. The interior in this kit is a Plymouth GTX interior so I cut out the rear seat and added correct '69 Coronet seats from a donor 1/24 scale diecast Six Pack. I also Im putting a benchseat instead of buckets which also are from the diecast. I cut the headrest off and had to rescribed part of the seat pattern back in. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere I was informed the dash doesn't have a speaker or defroster vents on top.(THANKS FORWARDLOOK60) So I cut the Revell '69 Charger dash up for mods. Also added resin cast armrest and window cranks from the '69 Charger door panels. (Thanks Ron S for your help with casting them) But it doesn't stop there. The radio's round knobs look like they came out of a 60s Chevy and there is no ignition so I reshaped the knobs and drilled out the ignition. And I thought this was going to be an easy build. Here's some pics of my progress so far. Please overlook the flocking and dust as I forgot to clean the interior before I took the pics. Thanks for looking. Comments Welcome.

Here's what I'm replacating.

This is where it pays off. Seats, armreat and window cranks installed. I still have to add the seatbelts and finish the dash.

. ;) Don, looks good! I once had a 69 Super B (without the 6 Pak) 440 auto, it was the same color combo as yours. But mine had these roller knobs on the radio not turn type knobs.I dont know if it was opional , but I also was fortunate enough to own a 69 Charger R/T, And it also had a roller knobs on the radio, so I'm kinda thinkin it was a standard thing. no big deal but if yer goin this far....... any way its lookin great so far, I'm really lokkin forward to the end result.

George, I did change the kits round knobs to the roller type. I can't believe Monogram even put round knobs on it in the first place.

Super Bee looks great, can't wait to see more. Where did this diecast come from, I have never seen or heard of Route 66. I was about to start scrathbuilding a correct interior for the '69 Hemi Super Bee I am working, this work be a great time saver to get one of these diecasts.

Mike, I bought the diecast at a local Kmart about seven years ago. Route 66 diecast was and is no longer a Kmart exclusive. However MotorMax makes a 1/24 scale 69 Six Pack with the same interior and sells for about $10.00 on Ebay. I just got one for an R/T conversion I'm doing on another Monogram kit. You can leave the headrest on if you like because the 1:1 car came either way. It has mags instead of the steel wheels which BTW are the most accurate looking late '60s Mopar steel wheels I've seen yet once you de-chrome them. Hope this helps, ;) Don

Thanks for the information, I will have to keep an eye on eBay for the original, need the steel wheels too. No wonder everyone I called today thought I was crazy asking for a route 66 '69 Super Bee.

Mike, glad I could help. Good luck. I won another Route 66 '69 Six Pack on Ebay about two weeks ago. The first one I've seen on there in seven years. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. ;) Don
