Olderisbetter Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Hello Everyone,I am a born again modeler. I started building at about age 10 in 1955. Then when I got my first 1:1 at age 16, I forgot all about the models. After a life as an aircraft mechanic and auto mechanic, among other things, I retired a few years ago. I just started building again about one year ago.. Although I am American, I have chosen to retire to Thailand, where I have lived for 7 years. This makes getting kits, parts and supplies very difficult but not impossible. My main interest is cars of the 40's-50's. As a young mechanic I worked on many of these cars and subsequently drove them. Also cars of the 60-70's era, but I have less interest in them. I like to build bone stock, so the youngsters can see what these cars were actually like. I went through the customizing craze, both with models and 1:1 cars. But now I prefer original. It's all fun whatever you like. You all have advanced the hobby so far since I started as a kid. I can remember when the first 3 in 1 AMT kits came out.....maybe that was 1958.Thanks.Dennis
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Welcome Dennis! Look forward to seeing some of your stuff! We seem to share the same interests so I'll be interested to see what you do. Steve
Speedfreak Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Welcome back to the hobby Dennis. Lots of great 'stock' builders here for sure. Have fun!
