Just opened a 20 year old Christine Pro Mod kit. Well, upon inspection of the kit I see it has a Chevy engine . Well, long story short, that is not going to cut it. No way I am putting a Chevy in a Mopar (Just like I will not put a Chevy in a Ford) I know the actual car had a monster wedge motor in it and that is what I would like to use.

I would like a Gibson Pro Mod wedge, but not easy to locate.

What I need to know is what would be a suitable donor for this build. A nice Hemi in a pinch, but would like the wedge.

This is what I want..... or be able to make

It all depends on how fussy and realistic you want to get,  the wedge would be perfect, but if that is out of reach,

i would grab one of the many Hemi's available in various kits, grab a tunnel ram from what ever you have in the spares box, and modify to suit.

Personally, i don't thing "correctness" is all that important, as long as it looks good, and reasonably right i am happy.   ( nothing against those who do like things perfectly correct either).

I would second this. Personally, I would start with one of the Hemi's I have in my parts box and scratch up some valve covers like in the picture, and the water pump, oil pan, and motor plate would be fairly strait forward to make. The tunnal ram and carbs are available from many resincasters including Morgan Automotive detail. http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ccp0-catshow/Carburetors.html . Well the carbs are anyway. I know someone has the tunnal ram i just can't remember who right now.

Yea, I agree also, it does not need to be perfect, just not a BBC.

I know a few Monogram kits have tunnel rams and I'll have to do some looking.

A hemi is not out of the question

Found the RG engine... gotta think bout it a bit. For the price of the Ross I can get a parts kit or two and have more extra parts.

I will cut the tops off the Christine covers and use them because they have "Christine" cast in them

Could you use the Lindberg '64 Plymouth engine as a starting point? It comes with two engines, a Max Wedge, and a slant 6.......

AMT's '49 Merc kit also comes with a non-Hemi big block MoPar engine.....
