70's, REPU?

didn't they race that? ;)

Yes! it's a REPU. I think they may have be raced.

Some years were mean looking little things. The RX3s and 4s too. I miss my 4, which was a wagon to boot.

Any one want to take a crack at what RX stands for? How bout MX.

This is still the ultimate Rotary, people still say, "man, that has a radical cam in it." LOL

Rotary Engine Pick Up

Posted (edited)

come on Chris, easy..rotary experimantal  and mazda experimental

awww, I LOOOOOVE the 4 rotors, you don't realize how much I love that car! First Japanese manufacturer to win at LeMans without a reciprocating engine, 787B such a sexy car and the 690bhp engine is equally sexy.

It is the ONLY Japanese manufacture to win overall at du Mans and almost gone bankrupt doing it, too.

Nissan tried and failed

Toyota tried and failed

Honda tried and failed

maybe Accura but I don't think there car is reliable enough (they say there are a little flimsy and body work plicks off easily), nor do I believe it will be able to be competitive with the LMP1 diesels of Audi and Puegoet

I think the others are afraid to even try. B)

ahhhh, didn't know that. B) bankrupt?

yeah, I don't think Acura can stand up to du Mans ;)

ya anyways

easy again, it represents the Auto Union AG and the merging B)

the first represents Audi, the second DKW, third Horch, and the fourth Wanderer ;)

Horch was a genious behind Germans automotive engineering.

I knew you would get, yup the union of the four companies that make up Audi, which is now obviously owned by VW, which may soon be all owned by Porsche, who said, "We want to compete with Toyota to be the worlds largest manufacturer."

Not sure that is going to happen or even if it such a good idea.

They dumped so much money into their motorsport program they nearly went OB. That is when Ford got envolved and bailed them out.

:blink:B) not sure

if and if it were to happen it could.

Porsche owns:

-Porsche

-VW (~31%)

Volkswagen owns:

-Audi

-Bentley

-Bugatti

-Lamborghini

-SEAT

-Skoda

-Volkswagen

And VW is

VW Europe

VW US & Canada

VW Mexico

VW South America

VW Asia-Pacific

VW South Africa

Toyota owns:

-Daihatsu (~51%)

-Fuji Heavy Industries -- Subaru (Toyota owns ~20%. Toyota bought this from GM in late 2005. )

-Isuzu (5.9%, announced 7 Nov. 2006)

-Lexus

-Scion

-Toyota

They sell a lot of VW world wide. I read somewhere it's the most popular car in Japan. Go figure.

The first thing is overturning the "VW Law" which I think happened in EU Court recently, and the appeal to try and block the sale has been denied.

Porsche has also secured 13 billion eros to seal the deal, which would position them right behind Toyota.

Not that they would ever consider it, but just think what they would do if they went to NASCAR. ;)
