  1. ### ## ### ##### ###### ### ## #########, ######? (why is the swear filter set so sensitive, anyway? )
  2. B/U=Back Up light switch. I can tell that it was a runner that was just apart because the header is really rusty. The fact that it's a Berg Cup car explains a lot. Battery relocated with an electrical junction panel typical of a race car in place of it. This one is lacking a few vital things to run such as (obviously) a radiator and hoses, plug wires, and throttle cable. I also think that trans probably has the same 1-5 gear set with an even shorter final drive than me, just a hunch . Good one!
  3. That is a MkI Scirocco. The motor could be a 1.8L or a 2.0L running a 1.8 SOHC head and a pair of, I believe Solex, sidedrafts(). That guy has about a weekend of work to get that thing to run. Seeing the strut tops are camber plates, he plans to drive that car! I can also see the B/U light switch, which leads me to believe he is probably using the same gearbox I am.(Do you remember how close those gears are, Nick? ) Lots 'o fun!

WOW WOW WOW WOW! That is some nice work! That chassis almost looks 1:1. Great job, can't wait to see what's next!
  5. '76 Scirocco Cup car. Not sure of the name of the series and I'm feeling too lazy to dig out the reference material.
  6. Naahh, it's getting run over by the steam roller! That's where the windshield went.
  7. Great job, Chris! I've watched all your updates at the meetings along the way and all I can say is WOW! I'm also glad to see you re-hung the doors; much better! Now just look out for Jason, he's catching up!
  8. George, the "fish" Taurus had a short-lived SHO version that had a ridiculously small trunk lid spoiler and that V8 that Ken is talking about. Even more of a sleeper than the original two SHOs. You really had to know what you are looking at with one of those. And gas here is still above $1.90. It's better than where we were but I'm afraid we are going back there after Jan. 10.
  9. I knew it was a Mitsubishi.... How about a Lancer Celeste? 76-80 or so? edit: Also known as a Plymouth Arrow 76-80
  10. Late 70s Dodge Colt/Plymouth Sapporo. Mitsubishi's Sapporo in other markets.
  11. One of three(!) 1962 Works MG Midget. First time I've seen one of those. Google rocks!
  12. 19 out of 20. I got one of the slogans wrong. I was surprised I got the Aurora logo right!
  13. That's right! Diesels aren't slow, gutless and noisy anymore. Besides, as Art mentioned elsewhere, we still aren't up to snuff on battery technology. Not where we can have real electric cars that have a useable amount of distance between charges, at least.
  14. Like I said elsewhere, BEAUTIFUL!!! Can't wait to have mine blown off the table by it on the 6th.
  15. I want to say some kind of Jaguar, but I really don't know. It sure doesn't look like a Porsche....
  16. Gotta love it when you show up at a soup kitchen in a Rolls Royce asking for food.....

    White Trash

One of the many of your builds that I haven't seen before. I love it! Great weathering as always, and nice color combo. I need to build a white hot rod! It's a color you don't see often in traditional style whether shiny or dull. They always seem to look good when you do see them, like yours does.
  18. I gotta say, I was bowled over the first time I looked at this one. I am glad I came back for a second look. Fantastic work! I had no interest in building one of these big scale engines, mostly because they seemed boring. I never gave a thought to making a dirty motor for display. What a great idea! Harry, I noticed the pulley too, and wondered the same. That is, until I saw the broken belt laying on the display base. What a cool touch!
  19. It's a Tatra MTX V8. Definitely the best looking Tatra to ever see light of day.

    Halloween Kandy

Thanks guys! The dirt I'm talking about is obscured by the camera(a patented Raul Perez trick! ). Foil is the way to go for chrome trim. It is actually something I enjoy doing! How many of you can say that? This was done with the Ultra Bright Chrome foil from BMF and it works fine. There are places I could have done better but, it was a quickie build. Randy, I will bring it because I haven't finished anything else yet! (I'm almost done with something for next month, but that one will wait 'tl next month ) Dan, that's some fancy P-choppin' there. I wouldn't race 'ya with this sled, it's just for looks! I would race your T-Bolt but....... well, you know why I can't! Nick, you shouldn't like it, it's not blue! Thanks again, guys!
  21. Someone should tell the the countless droves of kids that I see get dropped off in my neighborhood every year about that! I can't afford to give candy out anymore. The last time we did, we ran out in 10 minutes flat!

    Halloween Kandy

I finished this one about a month ago but held it because of Halloween. When I picked the colors I didn't think about Halloween coming up and it didn't hit me until I pulled the masking off the lower body after shooting the roof. Anywho, I am pleased with how it turned out; even with all the dirt in the paint! Paint is House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl over Testors One Coat Inca Gold. The black is Tamiya. Rolling stock is from the Revel Merc kit. I just wanted to do a quickie for more paint and foil practice. It only took me about two weeks to do it. This is the first build I did where I took the body out of the box first for paint and didn't touch anything else until I finished the paint and foil. Usually I'm groking out the whole kit before I decide anything. Enough out of me, here are the pics: Thanks for looking and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
