Wide Whites

These front tires are from the '29 /'31 kits and I would like to use them. BUT ....the whitewall inserts stick out...how to narrow the whitewall??

Should I remove the flange at the rear?? These are the fronts...the rears were perfect!!

I wouldn't remove the entire flange but I would sand or file it down testing frequently. I have a piece of wood about 5 inches wide by 12 inches long with a medium grit sand paper glued to both sides for just such an occasion I usaully work in a figure eight pattern which keeps everything pretty even. don't use just a back and forth or up and down because it will tend to become uneven . hope this helps

I just dug mine out to check. I think you've got the wrong inserts in the wrong tires. Take all four tires/inserts apart. You will see that two of the inserts are slightly shorter than the others (part #103). Mine fit perfectly front and rear. I suspect you've put the front inserts (#103) in the rear trres (will fit) and the rear inserts (#102) in the front tires (will stick out). Part # 102 is the thicker/rear insert, part #103 is the thinner front. It's easy to mix them up, the difference in dimension is small. Make sure this is the case before doing any trimming of the flanges.

yeah but isn't that way way to easy. keep this up and someone might get something accomplished.

That could be so. But I have used those on my '31 and so when I build the '29 I will pay close attention to this
