Revell 50 Ford F1

So for my next project I want to use the revell 50 ford F1 the thing is I have the reissue of it with the yellow truck on the box and the awesome ardun flat head engine but for this project I want it to have a normal flat head engine. From what I have been told is that the first issue had the normal flat head with the option of the ardun heads.

So my question is, is the flat head in the first issue an accutate looking flat head or should I source the heads from another kit?

 The first issue had only a stock flathead, and it's a good one. 

The first yellow-truck version that included the Ardun supposedly has a problem with the Ardun-head setup and headers, corrected in subsequent issues (though I've never come across one yet).
