  1. Well I’d like to join in with the famous “striped tomato”. The engine and trans will be from the Foose Ford FD-100 and I’m going to be ordering the correct wheels from fireball models pretty soon.
  2. That’s exactly why I went with this kit because I don’t believe I will change much but we will see when I actually start to build it and yes the stock body panels and stock wheels are included in it.
  3. I will be joining in this year with this. Im not sure what I will be doing to it but my main goal is to just finish it.
  4. Thanks Rob and everyone else and I see what you mean as I went back a checked out your build which convinced me to just scrap the whole system from the block back as there is no way for me to keep it and be ok with it. So I have a vary small update, I have been doing a lot of research on these cars and for some reason AMT has put a brace on the driveshaft that dose not exist. so I decided to remove it. and fill it in. So while that dried I set about taking the engine apart and who ever had this kit before me did a good job gluing the engine together as I broke all of the locator pins on the oil pan and the sump pan. after that I set about taking care of the sub frame injector pin marks but the sun was going down so unfortunately no pictures of that but when I get some more sun and the frame and the axle are out of primer I will take some pictures and post them up.
  5. I will be entering with this, the AMT the fast and furious Toyota supra. There will be lot's of changes made like removing the exhaust and turbo system and the intake system for better power makers but more on that later. Here is the box top. And here is the box contents. I picked this kit up in a garage sale for $5.00 with the decals and the *gasp* paint missing. It was some what started as the chassis was sprayed in primer the engine was glued together and a few pieces where removed from the plastic sprues. I will be changing the wheels to these More updates to follow..... hopefully.
  6. Well we all know "new tool" just means they made some Foose wheels and not changing anything about the actual kit. Its sad as Foose's F-100 is one of the only vehicles of his that I like.
  7. Any pictures of the tire treads I am hoping for dirt tires but I suspect they are the ever common road/asphalt tires.
  8. I have to say I don't really like the rear end of the car but I do like when they cut the front bumper and show off the amazingly cool grille/front end.
  9. I have to ask this as I love this kit but what happened to the center part of the rear wing?
  10. I would say if you want to follow the rules 100% then go here https://infrastructure.gov.au/roads/legislation/ Then in the search bar type in -Vehicle Standards Bulletin 14 (VSB 14)- that should bring you to all of the rules I have found to say what is "legal" and what is not.
  11. Well my update for the ranger is a sad one after running out of steam on it and two failed paint jobs I decided to sell it to my brother as he wanted it more then I wanted to keep it so I brainstormed for a little while and found this one more to my interest I will be switching the dash to right hand drive and I am not sure about the rest that will be changed but for now I am loving the amount of detail in this kit. I was able to put together the front axle halves unfortunately while cleaning up the rear axle with a brand new blade I slipped and cut my finger so my time at the bench was done for the night. So hopefully I will update this more then I did on the ranger.
  12. Well after much deliberation I have decided to go with this kit. My plans are to upgrade to 1986 chevy k10 blazer hubs for all four wheels to get six lug axles, a ford motorsport crate engine 302, maybe a custom fuel injection setup or a turbo kit and then just the normal off road parts like a bull bar(roo bar) bed mounted off road lights, a bed mounted fuel cell and two spair tires. For the colors I am thinking Gloss red exterior and a flat tan interior with powerder coated black bull bar,bed light bar, bumpers and maybe a black grill but I think the chrome grill might look better but this is what I hope it looks like when its finished. Just an FYI thats not the final ride height I have it there just for mock up.
  13. One question is this open to all scales or is it just 1:24/1:25?
  14. So is it at least the first rule that all vehicles must be right hand drive because it seems like that might leave out some of the newer people that want to enter in the cannon ball group build for an example I have only been working with models for about two years with only compleating maybe two kits in total and the kit I am thinking about using is rather expensive and I would rather not have to cut up a dash board just to find out I dont have the skills to finish putting it back together. All I am saying is that when I have gone back and read some of the other cannon ball threads there was no rule saying that all cars had to be left hand drive because it was held in the US so maybe make it a rule that there can be a left hand drive car if it was imported for this race or something like that.
  15. So for my next project I want to use the revell 50 ford F1 the thing is I have the reissue of it with the yellow truck on the box and the awesome ardun flat head engine but for this project I want it to have a normal flat head engine. From what I have been told is that the first issue had the normal flat head with the option of the ardun heads. So my question is, is the flat head in the first issue an accutate looking flat head or should I source the heads from another kit?
  16. Are you including the side marker lights with the bed or do I have to make them myself.
  17. My first car was a bright red 1991 Nissan 240SX that I bought from my brother for $10. It was a blast to drive it had around 119,xxx miles when I bought it and used it as my daily driver till I got tired of having an auto trans car so I went and bought a 1988 Mazda RX7 with a manual trans. I sold it with 199,xxx miles on it to a high school friend and a week later he got T-boned at an intersection and the car was bent in half so it was totaled he was fine but man was it hard to see that car go to the junkyard.
  18. I just what to Know what kind of reception you get on that phone.
  19. Well I have run out of steam on the 57 ford so I am going to be switching vehicles to this. And I will be using the chassis and drive train from the 99 mustang SVT cobra. And with about a half hour of cutting and measuring I got this. And with some of the suspension components it looks like it will fit but the chassis will need to be extended to make the wheel base the same. and close up of the front suspension showing how far the chassis needs to be extended. I am thinking of gunmetal gray or plain silver exterior with a two tone gray interior for colors. And for teasers a shot of the engine in place.
  20. Well now that life has calmed down enough for me to get back to the work bench I have made a little progress. First I have stripped the chrome started with this and after six hours in easy off spray ended with this So now my next road block is going to be the exhaust headers. in my head I want some vary nice chrome plated nice flowing ones but as the pictures show that is not going to happen. so its back to the drawing board to see just what I can try to figure out to make this work.
  21. Well I have decide to change my project from the F-150 to the vary well know revell 57 ford custom. It will be in primer gray with tarnished silver moldings. And while the stock engine is vary well detailed but I will be using the 429 super cobra jet engine from the revell '70 ford torino GT. With a little sanding done to the oil pan and the frame cross member the engine drops right in. And just to show how much room this engine bay has comments, suggestions and criticism are all welcome.
  22. Hi I would like to join in on the fun of this group build. This is my entry, It will be powered by the SVT lightning engine(with a few other upgrades) and made to look like a landscapers truck with some recently fixed damaged to the front end.
