Roadrunner Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I somewhat arbitrarily decided to add .100 in length to the cowls, to more faithfully capture the "feel" of the GE's normally associated with these 767's, but had no .100 sheets, so opted for .080 & .020 sandwiched together instead. Once these are thoroughly dry, I'll trim and sand to shape, then putty as needed, probably today.
Roadrunner Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 OK, more snail pace modeling here. Here are two comparative snaps, one that has not been altered, and one that has been stretched. Still lots to do to get these ready for paint.
Roadrunner Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 And just for good measure, a view "down the pipe".
Roadrunner Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 The majority of sanding (windows and all seams) is mostly finished now. I hope to be ready for primer and color in a few days.
Roadrunner Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 A few years back, I bought several sets of Premier and CMK lights, so I'll be using those where needed to represent anti-collision beacons and such.
RustyNails Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Oh, right. Duh! Have you seen these: http://www.spruemaster.com/blog/downloads/texturas/ (Yes, I know, it's in Portuguese.) They're downloadable bases. Most are in 1/72, but they should be able to be used in 1/144 if they're reduced. Well, that's the theory, anyway. Good site, thanks for sharing
unclescott58 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Very cool to see how your doing this build Kevin. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.
Roadrunner Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Thanks, Scott. I'm looking forward to getting some gloss white on her.
Len Woodruff Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Nice. I have flown a lot of these. Just did a round trip in one of these to Rome and back. Week in between though for touring the southern part of Italy. LOL!

Looking good my friend Thanks a bunch. I really hope it turns out nice. If so, I'll be taking it to our invitational here in September.
Harry P. Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Looking good so far. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished model.
