More frame assembly and sanding of parts done. Had to set it on its axles to see if it sat flat on every tire and was nice and square. So far so good. Decided I am going to de-chrome it a little and paint the wheels, steps and tanks aluminum. As much as I like bling, I am going for a realistic looking truck.

Travis - that is really cool on the Birthday dates !

Chassis is looking straight and level , should make the rest of the truck assembly a breeze.  Testors Dullcoat works really well on chromed pieces to give them a realistic appearance.  Wash the items first with a degreasing dish soap first.

I've used the Dullcoat before but some of my chrome has a little trash in it. I may end up cleaning up what stays chrome and sending it to be re-chromed if the quality of my work is worth the expense.

I hear you on that , I was looking at a K-123 bumper and it has a hair plated over. Not sure if it is human or rat

Nothing fun to report, still sanding seams and parting lines. Had to set this beast together to see just how big it was, holy cow what was I thinking building something this big! With the paint I have planned, I am starting to think that the flat top sleeper may have looked better, I think I may leave the roof loose and procure a part from the red version that I could swap out. I have noticed on these kits the front axle always seems to be too far forward, I intend to address that as well.

No more updates for February. I've been undergoing chemo and it's made my hands too sore to do anything. Ended up boxing it back up for now, maybe I'll be able to get back to it before too long.

I hope you have some better days and get back to building. I know its probably not a high priority when you have bigger problems, but building is definitely therapy in of itself.  I hope you feel better.

Thanks everyone, I'll be fine in the end, the process just sucks! I did manage to get some more work done this past weekend, most everything is ready for a good scrubbing and paint. The sleeper has become the bane of my existence, the curved panel under the Aerodyne roof had to be bent several times to fit right. Old Buckaroo's build of the snap Kenworth has changed my mind on the paint job, I really like what he did and it will be a twist on that, with my original colors though.

I had some good news from my doctor this week so it's going to spur this build on I feel. I'm about at a point I can't put paint off for too much longer.
