Thanks everybody I am giving a lot of thought to lowering it but have never done it before need to find a thread too get some pointers for the rear the front won't be a problem as far as chopping the cab that would be cool but I am going to pass this time as I intend to use the sleeper and don't want to do all that this time.

Thanks for looking in Rich

Talk about 3 days late and a dollar short wanted to include this with the tractor so I ordered it 2 weeks ago, last order there, even paying for three day priority took over a week from when it supposedly left. So it will get built but unfortunately not as part of BRBO.

Very little work so far but I finally found where to remove some material on the rear so a little dremel work a getter down about an 1/8th inch until I can start some mock up work

I might be to late to chime in - But seems to me someone lowered their truck by cutting off the airbags and making new ones.  You most likely have it under control though ;)

Cutting the air bags is a must. Either cut a section out of the middle or as Sean said make new ones. My first 378 I lowered it by hacking, I mean notching all the axles. I was 13 then. Now I know better. I pulled off the look I wanted but a big truck should never have negative camber.

Looking great Richard. Something I found on the 378 that I'm building is that when the sump is at the front of the oil pan,it is right on top of the axle. I reversed the oil pan and it seems to have better clearance.

Ok still not much done, started working on lowering it, I am going with all three colors and I'm leaning toward red flocking over red paint as on top all for are poorly done at this point sprinkle a little just for an idea.

MOTHERS!!!!

Sorry man. I am NOT a fan of auto parts stores aluminum polishes. I use a stuff that is made locally, Coopers. I know the owners, Robert and Teresa, personally. I've used his stuff for 20 years.

What you've done so far looks great. It kinda gets me wanting to pull out my 389 project and do something on it.

Much less work. The shine is better.

With the Coopers Maintain, you rub it on with a Terry cloth, back and forth motion only, no swirl, let it blacken a little, let it dry, I mean dry. Go eat lunch, make some phone calls, then come back. Sprinkle some regular ol' cornstarch on a Terry cloth, wipe it off. If it's completely dry, it wipes off with little to no effort, almost like dust. You'll know if it's not dry, it'll continue to turn black and keeps polishing.

This entire unit, everything aluminum and the body of the trailer was done with the Coopers Maintain.

You can even see where I started repolishing the side of the trailer. It takes the swirls out from the high speed polisher.
