I've decided that I want to try and create a '69 Ford Ranchero. I have a Torino fastback body that I'm going to cut up. But before I get started does anyone have any tips on making "new" body panels? IE: rear of cab, inside bed area and tailgate? I have a general idea but always looking for pointers. I'm also going to try and shorten the wheelbase 3 scale inches. Which is what... 3MM?

Is that the Scrambler? I have that on my list of projects as well. I was thinking of using the AMT Cougar Eliminator as the base, since the body is somewhat closer, and parking two of the minibikes from the Vandal kit in the bed.

Thats exactly what I ended up getting at the hobby shop! Although Ive been looking at getting a revell 66 el camino to cut up. We will see. I mainly want it for the roof

It seems the ford kit roof cut somewhere toward the middle, leaving the front end, a-pillars, windshield, and such intact would yield more accurate contour for ranchero roof. Then adapt or scratch the sail posts. Look real close at the rear of the cab/bed trim/window trim.

The only thing I can recommend for the bed floor, wheel wells ,frt, back and side walls is use the bed from the Ford pu and cut modify to look like the 69 Ranchero.
