JTalmage
I've decided that I want to try and create a '69 Ford Ranchero. I have a Torino fastback body that I'm going to cut up. But before I get started does anyone have any tips on making "new" body panels? IE: rear of cab, inside bed area and tailgate? I have a general idea but always looking for pointers. I'm also going to try and shorten the wheelbase 3 scale inches. Which is what... 3MM?
talon63
Is that the Scrambler? I have that on my list of projects as well. I was thinking of using the AMT Cougar Eliminator as the base, since the body is somewhat closer, and parking two of the minibikes from the Vandal kit in the bed. disabled modeler
Sometimes I will look through the junk body parts bin for panels that are close to modify into what I am wanting to make.
JTalmage
I might also stop by the hobby shop tonight to see if I can find something to use as a bed floor.
Ace-Garageguy
... something to use as a bed floor. Corrugated styrene sheet, used to represent roofing material and siding, is available in several spacings / scales for doll-house and model RR applications... aero_eagle
It seems the ford kit roof cut somewhere toward the middle, leaving the front end, a-pillars, windshield, and such intact would yield more accurate contour for ranchero roof. Then adapt or scratch the sail posts. Look real close at the rear of the cab/bed trim/window trim.
1zebra3
The only thing I can recommend for the bed floor, wheel wells ,frt, back and side walls is use the bed from the Ford pu and cut modify to look like the 69 Ranchero.
