NeoPrime Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Does anyone know where i can get some decals for a 1/18 1968 Shelby mustang GT 500 KR? I have an old Road Signature model (pictured) and i want to repaint it but doing so will mean i lose the painted on "Shelby" lettering on the front and rear, as well as the "GT500KR" lettering along the bottom of both sides. I can respray the stripes easy but i cant do the same for the letters, so i was hoping there'd be a decal kit out there but i did a google search and found nothing.Help! Thanks.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Try using an inkjet printer on clear decal film, available online. You can experiment with sizes by printing on paper until you find the size that works best. You often have to get creative when dealing with 1:18 diecast scale. Incidentally, the stripes and lettering on that car look underscale to me.
Jhedir6 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Contact Jeff at http://www.firebirddesigns.net/customdecals.htm he's got some 1/24 68 GT decals he might be able to scale them up for you to 1/18.David
Junkman Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Oddly there isn't much in terms of an aftermarket for 1/18 scale diecasts.Decals, photoetch, wheels, tyres, one would thing those things would be extremely popular. But no.
