Paul Payne Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I have a Revell 1932 Ford chassis, painted and with front and rear suspension and wheels and tires glued on with superglue, and I discovered it was warped, starting right in front of the floor section. Has anyone had luck using hot water to unwarp an already assembled chassis? Any issues with hot water allowing superglue to come loose? I plan on putting the chassis in a container with a weight on it, pour in the hot water, and hope it settles itself. Any suggestions welcome!
James W Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 The super glue is very likely to come apart, especially when you start moving the plastic frame around. It dose not melt the plastic but only attaches to it. You might want to disassemble as much as possible before hand or take your chances leaving it all together which ever seems to work better for you. I had a freind that used super glue just because it would come undone when his clients returned his work to be repainted.
