From the looks of it, for the (1984) reissue '67, they took the '72 seats and re-engraved the inserts to tie in with the '67 rear seat.

well phoey,

That means I have to find a set of originals I guess.

Maybe not:

I have a set of Modelhaus replacement seats that exactly match the ones inside the green car above. They're in the familiar tan resin.

I have a set of Hart's Parts replacement seats that match the black seat in the second pic above. They're in white resin.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the kind words. And I don't mean to brag, but I've never seen one I thought was any better either...at least not one made from ANY reissue and not from an original annual. Not that others couldn't build a better model, or even haven't, I just haven't seen one, that's all. And I can't or wouldn't say that about any of my other models.

......well, I know from building one in the mid 80s, and seeing plenty built around here, none of them looked correct. it was just one of those kits all of us so much wanted to be a killer piece,  but it never seemed make the the grade.....yours does, and the wheel detail, the body color with egg shell white interior and such makes an unbeatable combo.....I love it........the Ace...........^_^

Yeah, I call it my "Christmas Car" because I can see Santa driving it in the town parade. :D One mistake I made was, I didn't catch that the PONTIAC should have come off the rear panel. Ah shucks oh well.

The paint, BTW, is good old Testor #4 Dark Red, airbrushed. I forget what I used for primer, prolly (knowing me) Testor Rust. Maybe a light gray, I forget. I'm pretty sure this was the first model I ever rubbed out the paint direct (no clearcoat). I do remember that that #4 Red laid down VERY smooth and easy for me, and I'm looking forward to using it again.

The white glue I used over the kit chrome headlights has turned milky over the years. Someday I'll pry those cataracts out and redo them.
