lilbuddy Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Hi All,Im new to the hobby and Im in the finishing stages for my first build. I'm about to complete a 1970 Challenger. Its a revell kit I picked up at Michaels. Another member is doing the same kit right now but his is turning out wayyyyyyyyyy better. At any rate I thought my next one would be a 66 mustang hard top. My mom had one of these and I thought I would try to make this my next build and give it to her for her Birthday in April. I did a google search and found a couple of different kits. Since I have very limited experience I thought I would ask the forum if they prefer one kit over another? TIA
Snake45 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 There's only one '66 Mustang hardtop kit (in 1/25), and it's made by AMT. You probably saw several different boxings, of which there have been many over the years. I don't think the kit itself has changed over the last couple decades, except for tires, and the "resto rod" boxing had--I think--an extra engine which you don't really need. The current issue, available at Hobby Lobby, is just fine and has good tires.
