bonehead23 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) I built this awful mess many years ago. Paint is full of runs (no prep or primer back then) worn, scraped, dusty and ugly hand-painted graphics for a local bike shop long gone. I only had the body and interior for a '32 panel, and put it on a '32 Ford chassis, with a flathead that has a Chevy 4-barrel intake, rear distributor and 409 headers...I was young and dumb. I sacrificed a 1977 issue '32 roadster kit , and using the chassis, better suspension, 18" and 20" Jada wheels, and a newer 6, maybe a '53 Vette...it will be stripped, repainted, and returned to ALL CHEVY! The rear axle is '62 Vette, the front is '37 Chevy. Posted finished Under Glass. Edited February 28, 2016 by bonehead23
Speedfreak Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Looks like a great project Stephen, lots of potential I think.
Roadrunner Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I've never tried to recycle an old kit, so this will be interesting to me.
1930fordpickup Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Looks good so far. I have a body but need the rear doors .
Lordmodelbuilder Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) I recently inherited the same old MPC kit. I think it's a 1933,not 32. Mine is complete & will be rebuilt also. Keep us posted. Brad Edited February 4, 2016 by Lordmodelbuilder
bonehead23 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 I recently inherited the same old MPC kit. I think it's a 1933,not 32. Mine is complete & will be rebuilt also. Keep us posted. Brad 409!! Cool wheels...nice so far. Mine was a glue bomb body. Another panel i have was also rebuilt;my brother in law built it bone stock unpainted and ugly. I pro-streeted it. Cheers.
bonehead23 Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Suspension is in, now it is time to prime and paint.
horsepower Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I recently inherited the same old MPC kit. I think it's a 1933,not 32. Mine is complete & will be rebuilt also. Keep us posted. Brad they were sold as both '32s, and '33s but are actually '32s, as back then Chevrolet used the previous year front sheet metal from passenger vehicles on the current year light commercial vehicles. If you can get them, the '37 Chevy, all the '51 Bel-Air kits, and the '60 Chevy pickup kit all have six cylinder engines that will be correct for that, Chevrolet didn't change any of the external appearance until '63, except for a valve cover design in '55.
bonehead23 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Pearl white and ready to assemble.
bonehead23 Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 here's the engine I decided on...a '53 Vette 6 without the ignition shield and Weber carbs. Just so you aren't left asking "What engine is under there?"
crazyrichard Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 nice ! looking at the colorsceme , could be cool to do the whole roof black like vinyl .. wil match the decal and line and break the white a bit ?
