Here are some pix of the progress of my mystery motor corvette.  I used the AMT '63 Corvette as a basis, as it has the big-block engine.

Sources of information are the Hot Rod article and the video from corvetteonline.com.

The chassis: note the flat panels in place of the stock floor and the heavy front sway bar.

The engine:  the M/T cars had the extra breathers on the valve covers and magneto ignition.

From the front, note the window retaining clips and half of the blower scoop on the hood.  This one is what I had, although not totally correct.

At the rear, note the removed gas filler cover and the empty panels for the removed tail lights.

As you can see, there are a lot of details to take care of.

Very nice! With the work you're putting into this I'm surprised you didn't swap in the chassis from a Revell '67, but your work on the one-piece kit chassis is remarkably effective. Well done and model on!

The bumper slots in the back of the AMT Corvette seem perfect to duplicate the Mystery car.

I don't go crazy about the chassis as this is an area most photos don't show.

This model looks good so far. I forgot about the modified hood to accommodate the Mystery engine.

Snake45:  You are right, the Revell '67 would be a better chassis.  However the Revelle '67 in my stash is going to be the DX Corvette campaigned at Daytona and Midwest division SCCA.  I saw this car at an SCCA National in '67.
