Old Buckaroo Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Dennis - that is some really nice work converting the sleeper.Impressive cab roof also!
Superpeterbilt Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Wow Dennis, that is some super clean work. This is off to a great start. Do you have a resin hood, or will you scratch build that also?
RapidTransit#13 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 JF logging has some impressive rigs. That one there is pure badass. Ur gonna have a lot of lights to scratch
gatorincebu Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Dennis, I am pleased to see you are back at the bench! That looks like it will be an interesting build. Which you know I will follow. Be Well Gator
Tesla Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Thanks for looking everyone! Terry: I’ll be using a resin hood from Plaskit Travis: Definitely a lot of lights…I’ve got an idea for them
10thumbs Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hi Dennis, I can understand why you need to build this one. Looking real good what you're doing there.
Petetrucker07 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Can't wait see this come together. I may have to change direction with my 367. I really like how this company specs out their trucks. This will an awesome lookin build when you get it done.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 All of this with a snap kit! Wow!! Great work!!
Tesla Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thank you Michael, Clayton, Brian and Rob. I've narrowed the trailer options down to two choices: 1 and 2. The first option would require a much longer frame for this setup. No big deal...I used 24" long frame rails. The second option is the one I tend to favor...we'll see.
Petetrucker07 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Option 2 would be the easiest I think, but option 1 would look awesome.
Superpeterbilt Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I would go with option 2 and load it full of logs.
gatorincebu Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 option 2!!! X's 2 . I second that motion! Be Well Gator
Petetrucker07 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Guess I'm the odd man out in this "vote". I still think #1 would be an awesome build. Not that there's anything wrong with #2. They both would look great.
Tesla Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Thanks for the feedback everyone...I appreciate it! Clayton, you are right about option #2 being easier to build and that's why I tend to favor it over #1. But I must say, #1 would make a great build. Decisions, decisions
10thumbs Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Dennis will you be building these scratch?Do I see the 1st one right, it has 4 axles, with a step in the frame up front?
Petetrucker07 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 #1 has a turntable, non detachable connecting gear. That's why the frame steps like a container/Connex trailer. The front 2 axles turn.Dennis will you be building these scratch?Do I see the 1st one right, it has 4 axles, with a step in the frame up front?
Tesla Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Dennis will you be building these scratch? Do I see the 1st one right, it has 4 axles, with a step in the frame up front? Michael, I will be scratch-building the trailer(s). To give you a better idea of how this setup works, here's a link to the Peerless website with an excellent video
10thumbs Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Dennis, I don't see a link, but I went there and found the video. Now I get it!If you feel up to it, then my call would be #1. I'd like to see a tractor with 3 axles built, plus the idea of having a stack of logs on top of the axles, then a cool trailer in back....pretty tough one to beat, my opinion.I really like this.
