restoman Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 My version of a life-long strip warrior... a car that made it to the track early in it's life and stayed there. A nice kit to build, this one had a lot of scratches on the windows and the chrome was completely trashed, like someone had sprayed it with Windex. Detailing the grill and rear taillight panel was tricky - had to cover the Alclad with Future before anything else could be done. No wash on this one... Duplicolor Gold covered with over-thinned ProSpray real car clear. I put the stripes on top of the clear, wish I'd put them under but they weren't part of the original plan. This is the most detail I've ever put into a model and most of it was fun. Pinned the wipers, mirror and door handles, another first for me. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Never could find the hood ornament...
Curt Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Very nice, Mike, especially the paint work. Gorgeous!
lghtngyello03 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Awesome build! I have this in my stash as well waiting to be built. Going to do black, red stripes, and red interior with the dog dish hub caps on mine.
V8 Trucker Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 hey well done, in the same color also I have built the '67
Harry P. Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Beautiful model of a beautiful car. Too bad you can't find the hood ornament. Maybe one of our forum members could help you out?
