I remember a couple of years ago, one of the $$ guys rodded a '34 Chrysler Airflow. Lots of people were upset about that one. I'm pretty sure the guy started with a basket case. I thought it was cool.

From an historical preservation POV that's downright disgusting. . .but to be fair (and perfectly honest) those Airflows were pretty b***ugly beasts and could stand some modifying here and there!

I thought it was cool. My Dad's a purist, I remember him catching me hacksawing the AMT '40 Sedan into a town car config and lecturing me on the trouble and expense the engineers went through to make the kit and the original (He's an industrial engineer)

then I polka dotted it. That's when he knew I had gone to the dark side. I think I was 9 at the time.

got any pics of that 34 chrysler?? and to me (this is just my opinion) every car has to be modded one way or another :D

to tell you the truth i think its your car do what ever you want to do to it

when i become a customizer there is no make of car on the face of this planet that will be able to get away from my welder, sawzall, and grinders

there is no car that is the holy grale to me that i would not modify

from an old ferrari to a 59 caddy if i own it it will be customized

Packard-Darrins (I saw a cusomized one on "My Classic Car" that made me want to reach through the TV and smack the guy who committed said sacrilege), any other Packard, Mark I and II Continentals, Cords, Deusenbergs, any other true classic (pre-48, low production, original lofty price) and Ferraris.

I recently pulled a 327 straight-8 out of a basketcase '53 Packard coupe. Plans are to to put it in a street rod '29 Ford pickup...when my budget will allow it. I saw the engine for sale and couldn't pass it up.

I think it's kind of uncool that a pristine Lincoln Zephyr was cut up to make this:

But at least he made fiberglass copies so anyone else can have one without chopping up an original. I do think it is an incredible kustom.

Lownslow...it's your car, and you have to do what floats your boat. What others think really does not matter.

in 1:1, the car I least like to see heavily modified is any pre 84 Corvette.
