Chrischu33 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 As title, and 1 more: Can you wet sand an enamel clear coat? I know you can wet sand acrylic clear coats but not sure about enamel. Thanks
Snake45 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I thought Wet Look Clear was a lacquer. But anyway, yes, you can wet-sand it. In fact, I recommend it, because that stuff is HARD and takes three times as long to shine up with polishing compound than other paints. And yes, you can wet-sand enamel if it's thoroughly cured/dry. I get it to cure/dry by cutting it with lacquer thinner and shooting it through an airbrush. Rattlecanned enamel can take weeks or months to fully dry out. (If it still smells like paint, it ain't cured yet.)
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 You're correct Snake.Testors "Wet Look" clear is a lacquer, & yes Chris, you can sand it. Steve
