Saw this little beauty at a swap meet recently in Columbus, Ohio and had to have it. I've never seen a 2dr Monaco in real life and really liked the looks of this thing. It was mostly complete so I picked it up after a little haggling. It used to be purple and faded to gray!

I opted to swap out the stock chassis for an MPC roadrunner chassis I got off ebay because the exhaust wasn't molded in, and it had the rearend/exhaust separate. Which looks better. I also got some extra Starsky & Hutch Torino wheels for that 70's look. The tires are from the Revell 3 window coupe (with the lettering) and really set this thing off. I'm not using the Hemi in this build, but will be using the 440 that came with the Roadrunner parts. Going for a sort of "day 2" look.

Here it is as I got it

It will see the purple dip soon to get the purple/gray paint off. Then I will have to strip the chrome and either find someone to spray them w/ alclad or get a batch together for ModelCarChrome...

But here it is on a mock up after the chassis swap, and with the wheels/tires. And a brick to help the body sit where it will end up.

That's going to be great. Really good subject to build. Please keep us updated on your progress if you can.   Thank you.    Jeff

Love this body style. I think I may have been influenced by the '75 Plymouth wagon we had when I was a kid.
