bonehead23 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I never met George, but I always felt i knew him since i read all those magazines in the 50's and built every model i could lay hands on. So a friend asked me to paint a Kart for him...now i have to have one too. That is Danbury Kart in the background, I used it to get the details just right...even though the Danbury example isn't EXACTLY right either!!! Close enough to make my buddy John happy...and George, lookin' down on us from on high.
High octane Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 George was a great guy as he came to the Chicagoland area on a yearly basis for a custom car show at the Volo Auto Museum, as well as other car events here.
bonehead23 Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Nice pearl paint! What did you use?Testor's "White lightning" with a white primer base. This particular pearl white is easy to use, just be careful you don't :load up" too much...light coats then a final heavy finish coat with lots of clear. "Swirls" appear if you have a heavy spray finger!!!
