Rider Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Thanks Richard.I know eh, it was another experiment, more droplets and way more paint then the simple water droplet effect.
Rider Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Rear fenders done. I figured I would try the marbling effect. Edited May 15, 2016 by Rider
Rider Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Hmmmmm...... Is that a maple leaf ??? LolI was told it's some sort of weed that is cultivated for a variety of uses, including helping with pain management associated with Cancer.I am pretty sure I also herd that it use to be a huge very profitable crop to make a ton of products for very cheap. Supposedly this all changed when a greedy pulp and paper baron started a smear campaign and paid off lobbyist to turn the public against it with false information on it origins and uses.Something about how it was cutting into his empire and profit margins in the pulp and paper industry. I could be wrong, cause that stuff hardly ever happens, what do I know.I'm just a model enthusiast and an artist doing what I think looks cool and find inspiring. But hey I am also no botanist or historian so I really have no clue, I just like the shape and how happy and relaxed I am when I am around it.
Rider Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 More to come, this is just a base. Long weekend ahead, so next up will be sometime next week.
Rider Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 So I finalized my my full body paint feature. I decided it was time to pull off all the masking. Keep in mind this does look rough and any mistakes will be hidden with my next step.
crazyrichard Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 that came out great .. that purple really does it .. but what step ? weathering ??

That's the official logo of the what is now known as the Green Triangle Growers Association. It used to be known as the Humboldt County Growers Association but it has enlarged with Trinity and Siskyou county joining.
Rider Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Interesting hp, thanks for the added info. Richard, thanks man. Nope not weathering. Here are a couple pictures I am using for inspiration. A mural will be on the trunk.

Rider Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 I think I saw Tommy Chong driving a car just like that!! Anybody want some ice cream? (nice dreams!?!) David S. Lol. The next step. This is going to take a while.
Rider Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 So I managed to get 2/3's of the "masking" done, only took 4hrs, lol.
Intmd8r Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 What are those exactly? They look like the pebbles you would find at the bottom of a fish bowl.
Rider Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Blue tack, but ya it kinda does look like aquarium pebbles. The indents are from the tools I am using to shape them while on the car, also from trying to get the tack to stick to the surface and not the tool. I am using a dental pic and a number 11 blade, sometimes it takes a few tries to the tack to stay put and release from the tools.
Rider Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Steve, it's actually pretty relaxing, labour intensive but very chill.Michael, keep checking in. I should have something to show by Thursday.
cook_dw Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Wow.. That is crazy cool.. Wonder how many hours you have in that paint..
Rider Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Thanks Darrell, oh man no idea on the hours, 20-30 maybe.
