This is a kit I picked up for m stash and then had to start building. I did this the same time I did the 69 F-100 and used the same white duplicolor primer, and fought the same issues with the paint. I still never got this 100% but the thing is so small it's hard to see the problem areas so on the shelf it goes. Out of the box except plug wires, British green, white top, gray interior.

Nice model- what happened w the paint? I love duplicolor primer and paint. Never had any trouble at all. There's always that one can though.

I used the duplicolor white primer. I tested first on a spoon and it came out ok so I primed this and the truck and moved forward with them. After wet sanding, when I sprayed the color, Tamiya British green on this and testers or model master grabber blue (enamel) on the truck, I got spots that looked like orange peel but only in some areas. After letting them sit for over a week I wet sanded again and painted them again. The truck came out pretty nice but this one still has some spots, mostly in the hard to reach areas, that are still a bit rough. Incidentally, the white on the roof of both this and the truck was duplicolor and I had no problems. I have also used duplicolor gray and krylon gray and white primer with all of this paints with no problems.

Looks great! Glad to see the roof gutter painted the body colour as it should be.

Okay- sometimes enamel doesn't like to be sprayed over lacquer. Duplicolor products are lacquer- based. I try to stay away from enamels all together- they dry painfully slow, some won't lay on slick, and then there's the issue if you use lacquer primer. I try to only use lacquers and acrylics.
