Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 When adding photo etched emblems and scripts is it better to sand off the modelded scripts before painting and replace with the PE or to paint and place the PE over the originals? Thanks.
astroracer Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 In order to get the correct look and good adhesion for your script you need to sand off the molded emblems during paint prep. One of the first things I do if photo-etch is in the mix.Mark

The only time I don't is if the scripts are so light (such as some AMT kits) that the ghosting after primer and paint gives a shot at placing it correctly (assuming the model is correct). But a lot of thought goes into that including any size differences, etc. So, normally sand off
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Cool. I've shaved everything off. I was concerned about any difference in size between the PE parts and the plastic. Also the molded in scripts would probably make the PE stand too far away from the body. Thanks for the advice.
