Stang Assembler Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) Ok I need alittle help w/ an AMT 67 Z/28 Camaro kit. This is a first for me to detail out the engine on this kit. I'm doing the custom 302 engine. I have add an aftermarket wire kit. So my two question for you all are.1. Where do I put the coil? On firewall or wheelwell? There is no room on block w/ the carbs and blower kit or not use it at all. 2. Where is a good place to drill my holes for plug wires on the block ? Under the exhaust manifold or thru the valve covers. Please help, cause I have not found any pics w/ a blower setup out on the internet of a real thing like this. I am try to keep close to real as possible. Any comments would be very appreciated.thanksBill Edited May 3, 2016 by Stang Assembler
dshue76 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 All the engine is is a small block Chevy. Any pictures of a small block Chevy will answer your plug wire questions. They go near the exhaust manifolds on the sides of the heads, never through the valve covers on a small block Chevy. The coil would be your choice since you aren't building a stock engine. In the real world I mount coils to the firewall near the distributor since excessive vibration and heat aren't good for them and a shorter wire is better for spark. Her are a couple pics of the small block in my car,
Jantrix Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Here's you spark plug locations.http://www.vintagemusclecarparts.com/pages/302crossram1.htmlSince the coil location cannot be stock because of the blower, wherever you want to put it would be fine.
