Harry Joy Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Ever since my local shop moved across the plaza to a different, bigger space, they have become a target. This never used to happen, but in the last three years they have been broken into several times. Every staff member works a late to guard the shop, but the burglaries usually happen around midnight. No one was at the store when this happened around 4am. They've lost far more this time than ever before, and it makes me want to cry and kill someone at the same time.Full video of the event is only on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/MidSouthHobbies/?pnref=storyLocal news story here, with interviews and traffic camera footage:http://wreg.com/2016/05/03/smash-grab-at-mid-south-hobby-shop-leads-to-chase/
62rebel Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 criminals stay up all night preying on honest citizens.... somebody needs a good thrashing
bismarck Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) A happy ending to this story should be "it ended in a hail of gunfire from law enforcement officers"...... Stealing the stuff is bad enough, but to have total disregard for other motorists on the freeway? I would be hard pressed to show these clowns ANY mercy if they are ever caught. charlie8575 Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 How utterly disgusting; property crimes, while not violent felonies against people, are still one of the most disturbing things to watch, especially when it's against a small business trying to compete with the Internet, big retailers and who knows what else.I do hope he has an alarm? But even with that, it illustrates how even with a fairly quick response, it's still not enough. If I were him, I'd almost be tempted to hire an overnight watchman. Charlie Larkin
Ridge Rider Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I have personally had my livelihood stolen from me twice in my career so to me this is relatable. Sadly justice is never served. Police reports and serial numbers mean nothing and insurance finds an excuse to shirk their responsibility. I truly hate thieving lowlifes and hope the victims can overcome.
