Getting motivated to work on my Accurate Miniatures Corvette GS. I am using the great VRM decals to model the 00 car. What would be the best color for the car? Never been familiar with the Corvette colors. The 1:1 looks close to Ford Guardsman Blue but darker/deeper. Anyone know what color I need? The decal directions say Mecum Blue, whatever that it :(

Can you post a pic of the exact car you're doing. I did a quick search and I see the #00 car as Silver Blue Metallic. Scalefinishes has that colour for airbrush use.

http://www.scalefinishes.com/C2.html use the drop down menu for the right year, should be '63 or '64 correct? Both years have either Silver Blue Metallic or Daytona Blue. But a pic of the car you're doing would be helpful.

Thanks David for the answer. As far as I can tell the correct color for the car, as raced was Nassau Blue Metallic. There are so many replicas out there it was impossible to find a pic of the real car. I had to find my book about the GS racing days to get a definitive answer.

And unless you can see the car painted with the original paint in person, all Books and the Net will do is get you in the Ball Park. So short of scoring a can of the paint used to paint the 1:1 Car, do your best to get as close as you can. But for Mecum Blue I'd sugess Cadillac Argyle Blue as that seems to be the most commonly referenced color.

This should work.  I used this on my Dragonsnake build to replicate Viking (Princess) Blue as well.

That looks to be the color. I can get Scalefinishes paints and I think he does Nassau Blue too. In fact I have a bottle of Viking Blue on order for a first year Daytona Coupe build.

Thanks guys :)
