What color did you use on the cab? I like the tan/beige color and the blue looks great too.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for this very late reply due to three boring weeks of seaside holidays without modeling.

 

I would call the base colour of the cab rather medium ivory, i. e. a mixture of much white, some yellow and a little red, maybe one or two drops of black.

 

I always use Humbrol and Revell enamels.

 

I still have the sealed jar with the blue mixture. My writing on a piece of tape says that it is 50% Humbrol #15 Midnight Blue and 50% Revell #52 Blue.

Many years ago I got a box with the remains of a built AMT Peterbilt 352, a brush-painted, damaged and incomplete glue bomb. I never knew what to do with it until I thought this could be a good start for my first conversion. Should I fail nothing would be lost.

Finally dismantling, paint stripping, converting into a daycab and replacing the missing parts wasn't half as difficult as supposed.

After finishing the tractor I felt encouraged to start my first scratch building project for the trailer. As expected compared to a kit it was laborious but also not too difficult.

 

Anyway both projects were much more fun than building OOB.
