ismaelg Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Hello, First a disclaimer: I hope this post doesn't infringe into the copyright territory. If it does, please let me know so it can be removed. Discussing the Accurate Miniatures Grand Sport kit on another thread, an older Scale Auto Enthusiast issue was mentioned dating back from 1995. I realized I do have older modeling magazines somewhere. So after some digging I found I had a couple of these dating from late 80's to mid '90s! It was like finding brand new magazines all over. I had forgotten about this 1987 special Corvette issue. What a great magazine! It even has an article on the Corvette GTP and as you know I just finished a model of that car. By that time the only GTP model available was in 1/43. The article includes a "pit pass" with reference pics of the car but most importantly, a comprehensive list of parts of the car with their respective colors and paint suggestions i.e. Transmission case: Pactra Steel Gary Schmidt had it right. Gregg, thanks for carrying the torch! Thanks,
Modellpularn Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 That Corvette issue featured my story of how I built the Corvette Summer car. A long time ago!

Gregg Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Gary is and always will be my inspiration. I got me into this, it's all his fault. Back in 1987 The February issue of SAE. David Peter's Funny Car on the cover. Ended up talking with David Peters. Ended up with a magazine. Ended up with friends for life :-) Thanks, Gary!!!!
