You have to cut the windshield and backglass out exactly. Its very tedious work.

I need to lower the dash just a bit more to get the windshield to fit.

Got the dash and rear foundation installed. Also filled in the rear wheel openings that will be covered with paper thin styrene to get rid of the lines on the openings.

While researching this build I found that if you use a precolored body, the color of the body will bleed through to the final color coats. This body was red. The fix is to sandwich metallic silver between primer coats. I used Duplicolor universal metallic silver. Alot of you guys already know this but some of you like me may not have known it. The model would have had a pinkish hue if I had not done this step.

I forgot to do the fairings for the rear bumper. The rear bumper also has to be shortened front to rear which I have already done. It sticks out way too far if you dont shorten it fore and aft. The length is ok.

Did some more work on the chassis trying to get it to fit to the body.

I used the engine out of the Olds kit. It fits really good in the Thunderbird chassis.  I had to use the Thunderbird chassis because I needed a rear steer Banjo chassis for this build. The Olds kit has a front steer chassis. I will use the ford engine in the Olds when i build it. I will try to make it look like a Chevy engine. The Olds will be my next project.

Got the chassis, seat and engine primed.

Im rigging the model so I don't have to glue the body to the chassis. It will hook to the front and have one fastener, either a screw or push pin, in the rear.

The hook frame to the front of body and fasten with screw at the back will allow the body to be tight with the chassis, but I can still display the finished chassis by itself.

These are the only 2 pictures I could find of a nascar chevy engine from 1979. If anyone has better pictures and could post them I would appreciate it.
