regular guy Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Model Car Buildersanybody know when this kit is coming back?how about single kits of 50's,60's and 70's open wheel racing car like Olsonite Eagle?thx
RatRod Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Haven't heard anything about this set being reissued, but I have an original set, so not really worried. The Olsonite Eagle, and STP car w/tractor were reissued 15-20 years ago.
Mike999 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Found one of these at the local Flea Market not long ago. Still shrink-wrapped. I had been trying to find one for years at a reasonable price. This one was $5.00, which I considered pretty reasonable.
keyser Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Tires for the Watson and Lotus the awful 2-piece things. Norm Veber has 1 piece replacements at RMCM. Originals hard to find. $5 is a steal.
Bill J Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Actually all the tires in the Hall of Fame kit are terrible, with the Lotus and Watson being the worst. The correct tires for the Lotus and Watson are available from Indycals and come with decals for the correct markings. The original kit tires were still not correct for the 1963 cars as raced. Indycals measured, photographed and 3D printed the masters for the correct 63 tires. It was the only year for that particular tire design.
Art Anderson Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 As for 1950's Indy Cars in styrene kit form--there was but one kit that was ever worth building, and that is the Monogram Kurtis-Kraft KK500C--and that has been reissued many times over the years.Art
