crowe-t Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I'm working on build and am looking for the right sized tires. I was told the AMT 1957 Chrysler 300 kit's tire's might be the right size I need. If anyone has an AMT 1957 Chrysler 300 kit, can you measure the outer diameter(height) of the tires for me in metric(millimeters)? Thanks,Mike.

CometMan Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Michael, the O.D. of the tires in the '57 300C kit I have, (the stock one with the Coral colored car on the box), is 29mm. Good luck on your project, hope this helps! Edited August 12, 2016 by CometMan
MrObsessive Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Mike, I'm getting approximately 29mm for those tires. I used my dial calipers (the old fashioned kind), and then measured the points on a MM scale.Hope this helps!
crowe-t Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks Craig and Bill! This helps a lot. I've been trying to find tires a bit closer to 30 mm but I might not find them. Can someone post a picture of the tires from the AMT 1957 Chrysler 300 kit?Mike.
crowe-t Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Thanks Bill!It looks like they have an insert that has to be painted.I'll have to try and find a set.Mike.

I happened to have a Jo-Han '60 DeSoto nearby, it seems that with a little minor finessing the Jo-Han wheels should fit right into the tires from the 300.
