CAL Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) This stuff has to be 30 years old or better, never used, never opened. What I got here is a couple old cans of Pactra Model Enamel, 89 cents. I don't even remember Pactra doing model enamel. I do remember the second item, a double pack of K-Mart tube glue 97 cents. Let's see some of your modeling artifacts? Edited May 2, 2008 by CAL
kitbash1 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 You learn something new everyday. I didn't know that the Odds & Ends line was Pactra. That stuff was the best model paint going back in the day. The next time I'm in Wally World I'll pick up a can or two .
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 I can remember using Pactra often, along with AMT spray cans. Pactra also had the little bottles. They were good paints w/ a good coverage and high shine.
Modellpularn Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Yeah, Pactra paint was avaliable over here in the 70's, and it was great stuff, just like the other "geezeers" said..... I still have a lot of cans left since the good old days.... Don't think they will spray any good now, but then I can decant the paint into my airbrush
samdiego Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I was hopin' for some sort of witty reply, a rapier-like comeback cutting me to the quick, you know, the standard verbal abuse. Maybe I touched a nerve, maybe you all don't realize that I was there for the R&D before the patent on dirt was filed! Edited May 6, 2008 by samdiego
george 53 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 No Sam,It's just called Respect for your elders (REAL elderly) makes a person wonder if you played golf with Methusalla.
samdiego Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) I haven't golfed since they told me I couldn't use my baseball bat. I have chipped a few chariot models from limestone with Imhotep, however. Respect for the elders I have by the truckload. Parental and occupational influences have ingrained that. And the fact that I never grew taller than my Dad, the GY SGT, Veteran of three wars, who could probably still kick my ass at 86! And he's still a car nut! All in fun mi amigos Edited May 6, 2008 by samdiego
sdrodder Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 always trying to get the amt or pactra paints. Well right now no luck but i am still looking. Always wanted to use them for my customs.
