Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 (edited) What's goin' on... Over the weekend I started building a side kit for the tri axle Wabash flatbed. The coil was removed, rub rails, and the bulkhead and pockets. The panels are 1/32 inch basswood, bows are aluminum wire, and the posts are hollow round stock and i-beams. A new bulkhead and mounting pockets have also been scratchbuilt. Thanks for looking!!! http://flickr. com/photos/ 9495602@N02/ 2466519216/ sizes/o/ and http://flickr. com/photos/ 9495602@N02/ 2466518806/ sizes/o/in/ set-721576040820 44166/ Edited May 5, 2008 by Semi Trailer Mechanic
Jim B Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Very nice. Now, what would a set-up like this be used to haul?

Jim B Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Well, that makes sense. So, Scott, you going to load your covered wagon with watermellons?
bridgewatertek Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 I see these come in to work all the time with rolls of steel on them.
Casey429 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Around here, lots of steel haulers have side kits. It's easier to cover coils and such with this versus individual tarps. Plus, guys will haul mellons on a backhaul from Florida.
