FordRodnKustom Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 (edited) Hi all, I've been working on this one for some time time now. I'm not a big Mopar guy because my blood runs Ford blue. I'm really enjoying this build though this is one of my favorite pentastar muscle cars. I got the 440 finished this morning after working a third shift.Hope to have this build finished soon. Just an out of the box set up with a few details added. I'll be dropping it in this Edited June 22, 2008 by Ron S.
george 53 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Ron, Ive had this same car built in my room for many many years, built from the old MPC kit,and a homemade scoop. It's a replica of my cousin Jessie's car. We used to call it"babysh8t yellow" But I think to this day It was called Butterscotch yellow.Jessie went home as a result of a tragic car/truck accident in 1971, and I never had the gumption to ask my aunt what ever happened to the car, as he was her only child. We had built that car together, it still holds very special memories for me.It was a monster and I still miss them both.
FordRodnKustom Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Well this has been on the bench longer than I'd like but progress has bee made! I got the chassis and interior done and put it all together for a mock up. Mostly box stock with a few tweaks here and there. A few more things to and I'll be rolling it out of the shop. thanks for looking, comments welcome!
stump Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Ron, for a FORD guy, you're doing alright mate..Looks great so far.. What brand (?) of paint do you use on the interior..? That has a very realistic look to it. The motor and chassis look fantastic too mate. cheers Greg
Roadkill2525 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Looks great so far Ron, what paint did you use for the suspension and don't forget the drain tube for the air tray.

Hey, good tip, Thanks! I'll add that before finaly assembly. Again, I used Krylon Semi Gloss black out of the rattle can on the suspensions and Testors metalizers for component details.
stump Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Thanks Ron. I'm going to have to try and find some Krylon or similar down here in Aus.....It gives a nice finish. cheers Greg
Clay Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 As always Ron you have hit a home run with this, good job.
FordRodnKustom Posted June 22, 2008 Author Posted June 22, 2008 Had some good modeling time this weekend, got the body foiled, front and rear grills detailed and the Bumble Bee stripe layed down. I also added some lakewood traction bars to the rear suspension. Just about ready for final assembly At this point I'll be glad to move this one of the bench! Thanks for looking, comments always welcome
stump Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Looking real good Ron. The foil work looks top shelve from here.. The traction bars are a nice touch too..Are they a kit item, or owner made..? I have some from the Amt B/M Camaro, but thought they looked a bit too toy like... Look forward to seeing her done mate. cheers Greg

I'm not sure if the later AMT/Ertl/RC2 issue has them though.
