AMT 65 Buick Riviera chassis change?

I am looking to update the promo style chassis found in this kit, any suggestions, all answers are appreciated.

I think the only kit that has a better X-type chassis is the AMT '66 Riviera.

If you're not building factory-stock, you might look at a better chassis from one of the GM A-body cars. Dunno if anyone has ever done this in real-life or not but I've seen stranger chassis swaps.

The AMT Riviera or could use the Revell 63 or 64 Chevy's which have decent X-frames.  Offhand not sure if need to tweak the trunk area or not.  Would need to check that out.
