I recently bought a couple JoHan promos, all mid to lates 60's (I think the 70 Cadillac is the newest one....all the rest are AMC's).  They are solid 9-10's down to the chrome.  I dont wanna bury them in a box never to be seen again.  Besides out of direct sunlight and temperature extremes, any suggestions on how to preserve them?  Carney case?

If they have survived all this time, obviously there's no need to "preserve" them now... they're not going anywhere. Store them (or display them) as you would any kit. No special preservation necessary, just common sense. Like you said, out of direct sunlight and temperature extremes.
