randyc Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 It's done. It looks like a day 2 car sorta. Or maybe year 2 - my foil didn't come out quite as smooth as planned. Not as slilck as most of you guys try for. But I'm happy with it. Will try to get outside pics soon. It was a mostly fun build. I tried to make the trim look better than it did - window frames, drip rails, chrome trim. Take a look. Needs some white letters on tires for sure. I took these this morning right as I got ready to leave for work. So they are darkish, but the TV reflection is interesting. Not sure where it goes next - case or what?
JerseyRed Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Looks good! I'm working on my foil skills too, I can't cut straight to save my life. Just keep practicing
72 Charger Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Really nice to see a 70 Cuda and not a 71 . What is a "Day2"car ?
asfastasu Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 A day 2 car is one that the owner has started to modify soon after purchasing it.

DumpyDan Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Wow in the right setting this may be mistaken for the real thing.........nice work
randyc Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 Thanks all. Foiling usually goes pretty well, but I dinged this one up in the parking lot at the cruise-in. lol
Dann Tier Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Wow in the right setting this may be mistaken for the real thing.........nice workI agree!! -VERY well done!! -also, I love the detail of the thin red line on the grill! -how'd you do that?
randyc Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 I agree!! -VERY well done!! -also, I love the detail of the thin red line on the grill! -how'd you do that? With my bestest small brush and a lot of weird breathing to keep myself as relaxed as possible. The brush was loaded with what looked like a lot of paint. It took 2 coats to get it red enough. And I have to take my glasses off and hold it about 6" from my nose. I did have the grille in the body - just pushed in. Made it easier to hold. A lot of luck as well.thanks for the compliments.

426-Hemi Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Randy that turned out GREAT man! NICE color too! Blue looks GREAT on that '70 'Cuda!!!! -Put the Hemi in it? yes? (Shaker gives away to the Hemi), OR did you go with another engine of choice? LOOKS GREAT tho!!!! I have this same kit, I have yet to do anything more to it then I have.... I've just set out what hood type I am gonna use on it..... I think tho, I'm gonna go a different engine! NOT sure but I may put a 440 in mine..... As the '70 Cuda and Hemi were very rare to have in real life and to that I plan to dump a 426 Hemi in the '71 I have from Jo-Hans and have a Shaker hood on it. instead of the Pr-Street" hood the kit came with (I want the "Street" look for that one!) The '70 tho, I dunno, thinkin' about it I may go the 426 Hemi...... I ain't known as "Hemi" for nuffin'! -We'll see when I get there!!!

Thought abou the raisin bran hood, but the paint crazed a bit, so didn't use it. I'll be looking for yours when you get to it.
