Vince P Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 This will be my first trek back into the build arena as I had been building ww2 aircraft thought i'd give a car a try and see how well the nerves do in my left arm (see my introduction for reason). Anyways i'm starting with the Lindbergh boattail speedster and see how it goes thinking of black car with cream trim and red highlights. So as this project starts the engine halves are in ( as Roger Rabbit would say Pleeeeeeeeeeeeese Eddy not the dip) as they came chromed from lindberg and I want to paint them in an appropriate color. As this car will also be getting done in time for a local hobby shop contest. So enjoy as it will be as time allows as i'm also looking for work. Till next update build on
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 A beautiful car in reality, one of my own favorites. Though this kit can be frustrating to get to look really good, there are several builds of it that have been posted on this forum that are inspiring. Looking forward to seeing your work here.
Phildaupho Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Agree completely with Ace-Garage Guy. If only what is inside the box resembled the box art. My first recommendation is to sand off the raised panel lines for doors etc and scribe into the body. I never finished my first attempt but have since wanted to try again to build a model of one of the most striking designs of all times. Good luck with your build.
Johnt671 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I'll be following this build. I have one of these I mat start this winter. Here's a picture of one that was parkd by myhouse one morning. It belongs to a county judge. Nice car. Good luck with your build.
