majel Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I know this has been covered hundreds of times but.... I installed some PE parts on a Tamiya Ferrari Mythos with clear enamel (brushed on) and was not happy with the results. What is the best way to install PE so that it doesn't mess up a good paint job. Also I can't seem to get dry tire transfers to transfer onto the tires to save my soul. I seem to be PE and dry transfer impaired, any suggestions would be helpful
Gregg Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Clear enamel usually works great for me, or Future, which is less harsh For tire dry transfers, spraying a coat of dull coat works wonders! Let us know how these tips work.

crispy Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I've heard of the clear enamel finishes for PE, but I myself have never tried it. I've been using Formula 500 canopy glue and it has worked like a charm. Just a small amount is all you need. IF you happen to get some on your finish, not a big deal, warm water will clean it up. It dries clear as well. Chris
Olle F Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I use Krystal Klear for PE parts. It may not be the ultimate adhesive, but I use it anyway because I can clean up with water if I happen to make a mess. And I can assure you that I do make a mess quite often while handling those little pesky parts, so water based adhesive has saved the day many times.
Gregg Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 stupid question Gregg-do I spray the dull coat on before trying to rub on the dry transfer? Yes, you can do it before and it works good after also
