Yet another unfinished car

I started this one several yrs ago and this is as far as I've gotten.

I fixed the trunk to the right one, made the skirts from aluminum sheet and did some filling and painted w/ Harley/Davidson candy red lacquer over black primer and metalic

George, you kill me. I realy hate to tell you this, but that car has been sitting in my shelf for prob. 10 yrs. All I did was clean it w/ rubbing compound and wax it. Every thing on my shelves is covered w/ dust and over spray. I'll never get them all cleaned. If you don't believe me look for yourself.

Gramps! I'm in love with your 36 custom! How'd you stuff all them ponys under that hood?! Any chance we can see more of that diorama it's sitting on? That's some real nice archeteckture (or however it's spelled) And nice collection (psssssst George,.... wanna do a road trip to Gramps place and 'help' him out with that collection? Ya know Bill,######'n's got a pretty good idea there.I mean, if you ever need some help dustin or cleanin them babys up,Me an the ######'n could always do a road trip to help out a fellow modeler.I mean we ARE family an all.Just say the word!

######'n if you're serious about the dio, look in the dio section. It's all there. I imagin ppl are getting tired of seeing it by now though.

As for how long it took to amass all the dust collectors. Well, some of them are over 40 yrs old, but have been stripped and re-done several times over the yrs. That's why I just hate to cut a model up.

Sorry, The vettes are 63,65,67. The only 64 I had was cut up yrs ago.

NO to some eager help from the ######'n an I?How are you gonna show us some appericiation for all our hard work?( I was thinkin maybe weda got a model or 2 for all our hard work)I KNOW this is gonna CRUSH the ######'n.But we'll survive,(sob) were big boys now and we've both had our hopes and dreams TRAMPELED on quite a few times now! Now, on to George. What can I say but, Goerge-George-George. You and ######'n crack me up. I do kinda wish you or I lived closer. Then I could come over and maybe help you rebuild your dios. ( I worked as a union carpenter for several yrs before I went to the chemical plant ) Then maybe I WOULD let you help clean some dust.

Maybe since I can't decide what kind of dio to build next, I'll spend some time actually building a model for a change. Although I have no idea where to put it. Most of my later finished models were put back in the box and sat on the shelf. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Hey Bill, glad me an' George are keepin' you in stitches . Great to have some fun with our feller modelers. Got an idea for a diorama which probly needs some rethinkin or refining. How bout a car cruise or a parking lot? Yeah, I know , I'm wacked. If'n a guy had the room, a parking lot would be cool, specially if'n a guy had as many sweets as you gots . HEY!!-- Wouldn't a nice big coffee table with say.......a dozen or 18 of yer rides in a parky lot--under glass!! ---now that would be really, really cool ! Man! sometimes I amaze myself !!

Anybody can make a parking lot. I need more of a challenge, something that would require some thought and imagination and of course structure, yet small enough that it doesn't take up a city block.

That is one KOOL 36! You have quite a few really cool built-ups, there Gramps! You are faced with a tough call.... Clean up all the old ones or start the new ones. Better you than me!

Do I spy an old Lindberg 25 Tall T in the last pic? I just finished one of the re-pops, just need to post it.

Actually Dub, that's an AMT tall T. It's old, like me. I'm not sure you can still find them any longer. I think they came out w/ that in the second release of the double kit. MPC also made a tall T as part of their 23 or 25 T switchers. It has a more rounded turtle deck on it, I like it better.

Thanks George. I hate cleaning them, it takes a lot of time and I end up breaking something off that I have to fix. To bad there isn't something that you just spray on and it cleans all the crud off for you.

If my memory serves me right the 64 was like the 63 only without the chrome inserts. I don't know if it's in a box somewhere but I'll dig through the junk and see what I can find.

exactly..... i posted in the wanted ads lookin for a 64 hood... i am comverting an AMT 63 corvette into a 64 for my boss... he's been real good to me and helped me more than you could imagine any boss helping... i know there is resin available but a plastic hood would be that much nicer....

( It would have been 44 yrs old ) If it'd been there, you would have been welcome to it. Have you thought of using the 63 and sanding the inserts down and filling it smooth ? Lookin for a hood that old would be like lookin for hens teeth

i'll get the resin thanks for checking however.... the inserts are not raised... they need to be filled and it would be incredibly difficult to fill them and keep the reccessed areas nice....
