michellej Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 i made this from a 71 charger rebuilder and a 73/74 charger rebuilder and parts from my parts box it was a pain to fill in those door vents and all i had was super glue mixed with baby powder and tacky glue
Yahshu Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) Very nice, good choice of colour. I encourage you to take a bit more time with your body work, you are not in a race with anyone but yourself. With the superglue baby powder trick, if you build it up slowly, you'll find you'll find your body work will go a lot easier, I learnt that the hard way, don't be in a rush to get it all on in one hit. You seem to have mastered your painting of the body, I've been building for 30+ yrs & I'm still messing up my paint jobs when it comes to the body, it's the one area I still rush (because I don't like doing it) & I pay for it. Your work is improving in leaps & bounds, well done & keep up the good work. Edited January 4, 2017 by Yahshu
Sledsel Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 Great color combo. One of these is in my stash and I think I may "borrow" some of your ideas.

Yahshu Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 michellej, may I suggest using an applicator for applying the superglue, you'll save a fortune in paint brushes, keep up the good work.
crazyjim Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 I don't think I've ever seen anyone fill those vents before. Very different.

Sledsel Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) whats that I use those credit cards and phone type cards sent in the mail. Trim and use like a little bondo squeegee.. https://youtu.be/yEp5r5t_Os4 also, Bondo spot putty is nice for minor filling, but keep in mind, it will shrink with time, so do not use to fill major gaps or holes. Bout $5 at Walmart and will last a long time. Another tip is to get self adhesive sandpaper and trim and stick onto small pieces of flat wood or plastic to be sure areas sanded are flat with surrounding areas. The foam finger nail file boards are great (and cheap) also. The cardboard ones, not so great Keep up the good work Edited January 4, 2017 by Sledsel
