Greg Wann Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 https://www.pennstateind.com/store/mini-lathes.htmlHi All, my son in law started making pens out of resin. He mentioned that he could buy a lathe for $200.00. He is a link to several models that are available. You just might find your dream machine here that is of quality and affordable. I don't know anything about lathes. Don't shoot the messenger if they don't apply to your needs.
Exotics_Builder Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Those look to be wood lathes. They would be since pen blanks are wood or some polymer.
BigTallDad Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Don't expect a whole lot of precision from those lathes. Every tool rest shown relies on the operator to provide proper spacing and depth.Making multiple, identical parts would be very difficult if you don't do resin casting.Totally unrelated...this is my 400th post!
