carro Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Well here is my first built of the year. Started it a couple of weeks ago. Started with the engine, just using generic crafts paints. Also started on the chassis. Also started painting some interior parts with more generic craft paints. I also did most of the body work. It had some mino rdimples on both front fenders, the rear quarter panels and spoiler and rear bumper. The only complaint I have about the body was that the B pillar didn't have the body line that follows beetween the front and back door. So I applied some tape as a guide and continued the body line up to where it should have been. I also picked the color I will be using for the body. Some dollar store nail polish that cought my eye.
carro Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Excited to see how this turns out! Thank you!
carro Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 I completed the chassis, just have to put the brace that goes in the center of the chassis. Also put some embossing powder to simulate carpet and finished the interior. And last I also sprayed the base coat applied the decals and sealed it all with clear coat. Thank;s for looking.
72 Charger Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 This is so much of a better kit than that UPTOWN kit . Your doing a great job with it . Nice colour too . I look forward to more
Canso65 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 You've done a great job detailing and painting your Charger.
Plastic_Passion Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Where did you get your embossing powder? I've been looking for something easier than what I'm doing. I've thought about getting flocking but haven't done it yet. I usually use colored card stock thru a cheese grater and a screen to sift it out. Then paint what ever the color is I'm using, let it dry then white glue and sift the sifted paper onto my interior tub or seats. I've had really good results doing it that way and it's cheap but very time intensive. This all looks very good so far keep up the good work! And I agree it's a much better kit than the uptown kit.

Yea I remember seeing the uptown kit but it never really caught my attention. You've done a great job detailing and painting your Charger. Thank you!Where did you get your embossing powder? I apply it with craft acrylics and it sticks pretty good for me. Thank's!
carro Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 Well I can call this one done! everything went smoothly until at the very end altough I test fitted everything nothing seem to want to stay on correctly. I had to break the hinges of the hood, the windshield kept popping out of place and the front bumper would no longer go on straight. I really like the kit and the detail on everything is really good, now that I am aware of some things I just wrote some notes on the instruction sheets and will defenitely try making another one ( not stock). Thanks for looking.
426-Hemi Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 That turned out GREAT! I expected the Lindberg kit to have a lot more wrong with it! BUT I guess time, age, and more designers in the company turned out some better products in later years! As their older kits were loaded with slight fitting issues as well as incorrect parts on engines that just were not the shape or size they should have bee from a detailers point of view! The Little Red Wagon A100 kit comes to mind having what they called a "426 Hemi" that wasn't even close to what the engine should have looked like! The Hemi in that kit more represents an old 241 Red Ram Hemi then its big brother, the 426!The 6.1L Hemi engine looks great man, (nice work with the craft paint too!) the body color is GREAT on that car!
Davewilly Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Turned out pretty nice! nice work on the chassis painting!

This was not a bad kit I will defenitely pick another one up.Thank you!Turned out pretty nice! nice work on the chassis painting!Thank you!

I have to say you have yet to build a A100 as the Little Red Wagon kit. the engine in the kit has the right general idea, but wrong shaped valve covers as well as the exhaust isn't nearly what it should be! Plus, the body, has opening doors, and thats a nice treat, BUT the hinges are monstrous, and the doors from what I read never actually fit quite right... So theres a lot of fitting issues there. I've got 5 or 6 of the A100 Little Red Wagon kits being built all in different ways, and I'm not sure yet how I plan to go about the doors fitting right as most say just glue 'em shut..... MAYBE on all but one of them I'll do that but opening doors is a nice effect on a model truck! -But that too I have to remember that kit came from the IMC buy out by Lindberg a long time ago and that tooling is old..... BUT to add to that its nice to see that Lingberg made some newer stuff that fits well as well as looks good too!
